The Scope of the Project
The project will only deal with the identification of the metrics for software companies. It will not seek to study the underlying causes of the problems in the cited examples.
Primary Analysis
The primary analysis will involve the study of turnaround literature with reference to software companies; And seek to identify the common methods, tactics, processes and financial and performance metrics used by turnaround managers in the turning around of software companies.
Next four cases will also be studied, and the steps taken by turnaround managers involved in these cases will focus on the commonalties between the cases and what has been found in current turnaround literature.
Summary:
To ensure a balanced “whole of company view”, the projects objectives will involve identification of:

• One Research and Development of Software Metric
• One Accounting Cash Flow Metric
• One Financial Metric
• The Creation of a short Corporate Recovery Plan for Software Companies
